Scott Switzer
Art is created. We envision materials coming together in a unique configuration to channel our perspective; to focus a particular gaze. But another art, one in which a piece is already in existence but waiting to be found takes a conversation. The artist must utilize a particular language. Whether said artist is born with such a gift or works diligently to acquire such a skill is of no importance. However, in the tradition of sculptors, instrument masters and found art practitioners, Scott Switzer has evoked the trees. Local to Madrid, a woodworker and photographer, a painter and carpenter, his work defies categorization.
